Season’s Greetings

An early Season’s Greetings to all!

I’ve not been posting much, as life has been consumed by work and a few other personal pursuits. I’ll also be taking up an overseas posting in 2015, so a fair bit of change all round.

Will blog again if/when life settles down. Which is not quite foreseeable at the moment.

With that, here’s wishing you a Merry Xmas, a Great New Year and enjoy the holidays! I know I will.

XOXO

Buying Makeup Online in Singapore

If you’re reading my blog, chances are you know I shop a lot online for my skincare and makeup items. The first few reasons off the top of my head for doing that are:

  1. No pesky SAs to hover around me and rearrange the testers or items after I’ve handled them.
No offence and respect to you for doing your job, but I don’t like it when they read what’s on the placard or tag describing the product, that I can easily read myself when browsing, or just let me know about the price, which I can also read off the product or shelf.
  2. I like to browse at leisure, compare the colours, selection, prices amongst websites and search for reviews at the same time, to avoid buying a dud.
  3. I can do that at the sane hour of 3am when no brick and mortar shop selling makeup would be open.
Ok, there’s always Mustafa, but no way will you haul me out of my PJs to head down!

I’m sure many of you already know about Zalora, the Singapore-based shopping portal that offers returns and free delivery above a certain amount. Even the C-suite bosses where I work who are in their ‘stuffy’ 50’s know about that successful platform. While browsing, I was happy to see that they do stock one of my favourite mid-budget makeup brands – Sephora.

Yes, Sephora is an institution that needs no introduction and there are a number of Sephora stores in Singapore now, but I still prefer to go online to grab what I want, when I know what I already want, and shop for other makeup or non-makeup items at the same time.

There are a couple of Sephora staples for me, which I am currently using or have used in the past. Let me introduce a few of them to you.

The Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof Pencil (retails $18 on Zalora)

My blog entry about it Sephora Jumbo Liner

Sephora Liner

Beige and Taupe are my travel staples which I use as both eyeshadow and liner.

Another product I really like for light marks is the Sephora Lasting and Perfecting Corrector ($23 on Zalora)

My previous blog entry about it Here.

Sephora Corrector

The very first concealer I’ve actually finished up! Handy, easy to apply and flattering on yellow-based Asian Chinese skin.

Can’t wait to buy makeup products online? Now you can at Zalora 🙂

Stock up on your Epically Epic Lip Tints, Shimmers, Balms and Solid Lotions!

Allison of Epically Epic is having her 2nd baby soon, which means she will be closing her shop for a period of time to take care of the lil’ one! A 10% discount code “BABYBROTHER” is available while stocks last!

I’ve raved about her lip tints plenty before, so refer to the tags to access those old posts.

Her lovely handmade products are available at:

A colleague of mine had a lip reaction to a certain pricey label’s lip product from a certain store. I gave her a couple of the Epically Epic Lip Tints and no problem with those! Recommended for sensitive lips that tend to react to chemicals, but do read through the ingredients to double check in case you’re allergic to something.

Promo Code for pharmazon.gr (10 euros off!) – Korres, Apivita, Avene and other European skincare labels.

For Korres, Avene and Apivita skincare buyers, I’ve received and used this code on www.pharmazon.gr (a Greek website) that I’ve purchased a couple of times from in the past.

(KORRES sales on pharmazon.gr) 10 € discount coupon EZCEX9 on orders over 55 €. Just enter it at checkout. Valid until 26/01/2014.

This site has reasonable prices for international buyers and the shipping prices are still ok for lighter items. It’s 15 euros for up to 1 kg and 27 euros between 1 – 2kgs. The code helps to offset the shipping for me 🙂

Check out the bundled gift sets for sunblock that come either with an after-sun cream or another tube/bottom of sunblock. Pretty good value for money.

Still Bedazzled by Bezels

Moving from dangle bezel earrings, I’ve started using them in stud form as well, for an elegant, no-frills look. Here’re a few new ones which I’ll be putting upon Ebay shortly, all set in 925 Sterling Silver. They are around 10mm – slightly over 12mm large, depending on the stone and setting used.

I’ve also gotten hold of some frosted Czech Glass in funky shades, which give a more modern take.

This is a sampling of the earrings, with more on my Ebay listings at http://www.ebay.com.sg/sch/sui_gemeris/m.html?item=251381206373&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Readers of my blog get 10% off by quoting “lipglossfriend” after bidding. For Singapore buyers, I only accept local bank transfers.

I can ship overseas and can accept Paypal, please contact me on Ebay for a quote or leave a comment with your email address on my blog. Overseas registered airmail shipping start at US$4.50 for the 1st item, with US$0.50 only for every additional.

I do have sterling silver bezel settings suitable for pendants (with or without chain) and bracelets. In the near future, I hope to offer bangles too.
