iHerb and Vitacost are 2 of my favourite US online sites for stocking up on skincare and other necessities at great prices and generally affordable shipping. Kudos to their customer service too. I was mistakenly sent this bottle of Avalon Organics Lavender Renewal Serum in place of an eye gel in a similar bottle. When I emailed CS, I was told to keep the item while they dispatched the right bottle to me soonest possible. So far, American CS has been just about the best, in my 11 years of online shopping experience 😉 (I just checked my Ebay username records and it went back to 2000!).

I’ve been using this mostly in the day after cleansing my face in the morning and before sunscreen.
Texture-wise, this is certainly lighter than a cream or lotion and has a lot of glide. However, it seems to take a rather long time to sink into my skin, in comparison to other daytime serums I’ve used, for something with such a light texture. Massaging the serum in helps.
Also, I have to take care not to get this too close to my eye area as it’s stinging for them, probably owing to the concentration of plant alcohols in the ingredients? However, this is moisturising enough for me not to use a separate moisturiser or serum and my skin has not reacted otherwise adversely to it. Provided that I couple this with a moisturising sunscreen after.
Would I re-purchase this again? I’m on the fence about this. So far, I’ve not broken out from this and my skin has been in generally good condition. Results are not wow but rather average, so we’ll see.
