Lucy Minerals has just started their Ambrosia lipbalm line, with luxuriant ingredients based on their Ambrosia serums.
Lucy Minerals introduced it as a GWP last year, coming in an awesome huge 10g pot (on the right). Just very recently, they’ve been retailing at USD$6 per tube (on left) in Soft Rose and USD$5 for the colourless lipbalm which you can dip into any mineral colourant to DIY your own shade. http://annelangguth.vpweb.com/Ambrosia-Lip-Products.html
This is the shade – Soft Rose that I have. In 2 tubes and 1 pot 😉
castor seed oil, beeswax, hydrogenated castor oil, glycine soja lipids, olive fruit oil, jojoba oil,
camellia seed oil, argan oil, watermelon seed oil, meadowfoam oil, cranberry seed oil,
raspberry seed oil, vegetable glycerin, lauryl laurate ( a vegetable derived palm),
carnauba wax, candelilla wax, mica, titanium dioxide, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate,
Apple Poly polyphenols, trans-resveratrol, green coffee bean extract,
natural flavoring oil, stevia, essential oil blend of lavender, rose geranium, and yuzu.
Awesome value and scent at just USD$6/$5, yes? It contains vitamin C (MAP), polyphenols, trans-reveratrol and plenty of wonderfully hydrating oils. Ambrosia’s a good moniker for it.
Soft Rose is a very wearable everyday shade. Worn sheer, it goes with most makeup and can be somewhat layered to a darker shade that’s suitable for evenings too. I’ll show these in the 2 following lip swatches below.
This is Soft Rose applied lightly on the lips, giving it a lovely glossy sheen and very subtle tiny coloured specks of mica. Soft Rose leans warm and I do think this shade will perk up any skintone.
Here’s Soft Rose liberally layered on, with a much deeper depth of colour. Almost lipstick depth 🙂
These are not lipsticks and owing to the very moisturising oils and ingredients used, they don’t last long on the lips if you’re eating and drinking.
The other 2 colours I know that Lucy Minerals is currently developing is Soft Pink – a light barely there pink and Mia Rose – a brownish pink/red shade, named after Anne’s (the owner’s) granddaughter. These are currently only available as GWPs and let’s hope they get released into the main line soon.
Packaging: 7 (I’d prefer a rub-proof label for the tube)
Ease of usage: 8
Overall score: 8.3
