This little nondescript looking package was waiting for me when I opened the mailbox in the evening.
To reveal a small collection of lovely goodies from Darling Girl Cosmetics 🙂
With a short handwritten note on the printed invoice and a cute business card, a juxtaposition of personal + professional touches, I thought. Also included are 2 free samples – April Love & A Horse with No Name eyeshadows that I requested.
That’s the treasure trove of lovely colours that I purchased. Darling Girl Cosmetics is not yet a year in business and I like to see how it has evolved from my first Darling Girl purchase to a more professional looking outfit with the labels & all. I particularly like how ingredients are listed on the eyeshadow samples (as I expect that’s a hot seller at $0.60 each).
Here’re the liquid glosses in this order: Rolling in the Deep Holo-Gloss, 24K Rose Liquid Kiss (mini size) & Peaches Holo-Gloss. They’re in 3.5 ml sponge-tip applicator tubes, a purse friendly size & budget 🙂
Here’s what Darling Girl says about the Holo-glosses:
[Holo-glosses are perfect for the ladies who don’t like a lot of color but still want something a little special to wear. While these are sheer shades they have a fantastic sheen/finish to them.
Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Bee’s Wax,Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer,
Both formula’s also contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Tin Oxide and Silica.
Alternate Formula (for ladies with allergies to Shea)
Ingredients: Castor Seed Oil, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol, Olive Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycine Soybean Lipds, Lauryl Laurate, Carnauba Wax, Candillia Wax. Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer.]
On the 2 Holo-Glosses I ordered:
Rolling In the Deep. I love that song and this gloss somehow reminds of Adele’s voice deep and sultry. This is probably the most pigmented of the holo-glosses. It’s a deep sheer warmed up magenta with amazing red shimmers. $4.25
Peaches is a sheer metallic peach shimmer with copper and red all natural glitter. (Warm/Neutral) $4.25
24K Rose is in the Liquid Kiss range which I’d eyed for quite a long time. The Liquid Kiss range is available in 2 sizes and retail at $3.25 & $5.50.
24K Rose ♥ Bright vivid pink warmed up with lot’s of gold pearl. Leaves a lovely flush of pink after the gloss wears off.
*Also includes FD&C Red #27
There are two formula’s available.
Formula 1 Ingredients: Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Bee’s Wax,Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (and) Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer (and) Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer. Candelilla Wax and Carnauba Wax.

Here’re the lip swatches taken with camera flash, as the evening light was just too dim for natural lighting. Top photo of my nude lips were taken w/o flash and you can see how dark the photo turned out to be. These were all applied sheerly with just 1 layer and my favourite’s actually Rolling In The Deep, which I thought might have been too cool for me. You can click on the photo to enlarge the swatches, to view the myriad of fine glitter sparkles 🙂 As liquid glosses, these aren’t sticky/tacky and do moisturise pretty well. However, being what they are, they do not last as long as lip sticks/tints but leave behind a lovely subtle glitter behind even after the sheer colour is gone.
Part 2 on the eyeshadows & single blush sample to continue tomorrow 🙂
