What was your makeup resolution for 2011?
Mine was Project 10 Pan of any makeup item (barring samples), but looking at my progress from Jan – May, it seems to be…well… just lipstuff 😛
No surprises there.
Here’s the record and still counting!
(while tabulating, I realise I’ve busted the 10 count *yay* so Project 10 Pan has been upped to 20 Pan =)

Well, technically, I didn’t finish this, but the wand was getting quite dry and it was time to chuck this out. So it counts. *nods*
Here’re a few lip swatches of several of the lipgloss from Silk Naturals that I had done for my personal collection. They were not taken at the same time, hence the many variations and styles. I apologise for the lack of uniformity, which is no indication of the chaotic state of my mind 😛

US$4.75 and available at http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/tropez-nude-pink-liquid-gloss-p-1103.html
Silk Naturals says:
On me, St Tropez is indeed a nude pink, very wearable that doesn’t wash out the skintone. It’s quite a good nude if you’re just venturing into that look and don’t want to look too pale or do too heavy an eye-makeup to compensate for the nude lips. Highly recommended and very well loved by me 🙂
Available at US$4.50 for a 0.07 slimtube at http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/pout-sheer-shimmery-pink-p-120.html
Silk Naturals says:
Pout is a sheer shimmery pink gloss that’s grown-up and innocent at the same time. It’s a pink with rose undertones- on the neutral to cool side of the spectrum. It’s slightly lighter than Ashley- but not so pale that it washes you out- it’s just a pretty wash of shimmery pink.
Ingredients: Organic Castor, Avocado, and Jojoba Oil, Beeswax, Candelilla Wax, Caranuaba Wax, Mica, Titanium dioxide, iron oxides, carmine, flavor
Pout for me has to be the perfect light pink lipgloss. Highly recommended if you have warm yellow skintones. It’s semi-sheer and not very pigmented, but does show up on my lips as a light pink that’s on the neutral side. It’s not too kiddy or childish nor sweet. I’d call this the perfect interview lipstick if you aren’t trying to look intimidating 😉 This has shimmer, but is subtle and not overdone.
Genuine retails at US$4.50 and is available at http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/genuine-sheer-rose-shimmervlg-p-1092.html
Silk Naturals says:Genuine is a lovely sheer, slightly shimmery rose color- it’s relatively bright, and clear- a true rose. Ingredients: Certified Organic Castor, Jojoba, and Avocado oils, candelila wax, cranberry oil, carnuaba wax, flavor. Also contains: mica, iron oxides
Genuine was a very sheer yet very feminine rose colour that would suit most skintones. If you have ultra pigmented lips, please skip this as it’d probably be too sheer for you. As with their vegan formulations, they tend to be very soft and moist, perhaps a tad too soft for our tropical weather. I much prefer their kisser slicker and buttercream range for durability’s sake, although the vegan collection has a few more complex colours that I like and have 😉Silk Naturals says:
If you like our Climax blush- or our Darling lip gloss you’ll want to give Foreplay a try. It’s a sheer pinkish peach with just a hint of gold and bronze- and for Valentine’s Day we’ve added a really yummy chocolate strawberry flavor. How does it compare to Gold Blush? Gold Blush is more sheer with a bit cooler pink base, and the gold is more glittery. This one is more similar to Darling- but with twist, and a bit more pigment.
Ingredients: Organic Castor, Avocado, and Jojoba Oil, Beeswax, Candelilla Wax, Caranuaba Wax, Mica, Titanium dioxide, iron oxides, flavor
Let me tell you that Mimosa, Foreplay and Darling are 3 of my best loved Silk Naturals lippies ever. They’re sheer and natural looking on my lips with some colour payoff. Like all Silk Naturals lippies, very moisturising. These are so wearable that I can apply them on the go without a mirror. No surprise that they’ve been used up quickly at all. Other than the degree of shimmer and just slight shade variations, I can’t decide on a favourite among them 3.
Mimosa retails at US$4.50 and is available at http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/mimosa-golden-peach-p-713.html
Silk Naturals says:Mimosa starts with a sheer base of peachie pink and adds really pretty golden sparkle. It’s a light, fun color that’s great for everyday. If you like Lovelace blush- Mimosa will be a fun one for you. Certified Organic Castor, Jojoba and Avocado Oils, Beeswax, Candillia Wax, Carnauba Wax, mica, flavor. Also contains Iron Oxide, Titanium Dioxide.
*makes mental note to repurchase Mimosa again after I hit 20 Pan*
Darling retails at US$4.50 and can be purchased here http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/darling-peachie-pink-p-74.html
Darling is a warm peach tone with just a hint of pink. This is a fan favorite- and wonderful for wamer toned girls. It’s also the pefect compliment to our Foxxy blush, and Date Bait finishing powder This listing is for one .07 ounce tube. These have no actual flavor- but they are slightly sweetened to make them a little extra yummy. Ingredients: Organic Castor, Avocado, and Jojoba Oil, Beeswax, Candelilla Wax, Caranuaba Wax, Mica, Titanium dioxide, iron oxides, flavor
*A must re-purchase for me too since I’m warm toned and this gives a MLBB no shimmer but mid-glossy polished look*
The black label LE series of lipglosses are what Karen of Silk Naturals releases once a year around October with a certain portion of sales from that range going to a breast cancer foundation. They’re made with a bit of 24 k gold leaf which makes them really special 🙂 The colours are usually on the pigmented and slightly more “grown up” side. Very moisturising and lux. Retailed at US$9.95 iirc.
This Tickled Pink Kiss Bliss Creamy Lipgloss range has been discontinued and the colour was in one of the rarely released grab bags that Silk Naturals had. Otherwise, I’d not have picked this colour for myself. It is lovely and very pink, but possibly too cool a hot pink for me 🙂 It was a fun shade nevertheless – which I wore mostly at home!
