Check out this whopping huge 300 ml tube of Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50+ Milk that I ordered from a French site!
(all photos can be viewed in their original sizes by clicking on them)
13.80 euros for this. Is that value or IS THAT VALUE? Formulated for sensitive skin and provides very high protection + deep cellular protection (a/c to Vichy, not me!).
In Mexoryl + anti UVB / UVA, this protective milk protects against sunburns, against the cutaneous premature damage, the pigmentary irregularities and the ageing due to the sun. (NB: It’s an avobenzone-based sunscreen)
The ingredients are:Formule INCI : Aqua (water), glycerin, propylene glycol, octocrylene, diisopropyl sebacate, ethylhexyl salicylate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, titanium dioxide, isocetyl stearate, alcohol denat., ethylhexyl triazone, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, stearic acid, triethanolamine, potassium cetyl phosphate, synthetic wax, acrylates (C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer), aluminum hydroxide, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, caprylyl glycol, dimethicone, disodium edta, glyceryl stearate, glycine soja oil (soybean oil), palmitic acid, PEG-100 stearate, phenoxyethanol, silica, sodium hyaluronate, triethalylidene dicamphor sulfonic acid, tocopherol, xanthan gum.
But sadly, this isn’t waterproof. Otherwise this’d be the PERFECT body sunscreen for me.
Flip top cap that can over dispense slightly, as this is a “milk” texture and is pretty fluid.
The top photo shows how it looks after swiping the blob out a couple of times. Just a few more times and it sinks in completely in the bottom picture! Amazing, no need to wait for any white cast to sink in.
This has a very light texture, not much alcohol content that I can feel (alcohol denatured is listed further donw the list) so this doesn’t dry the skin out, sinks in so quickly and no unpleasant white cast. The price/ml ratio is excellent too. The only con would be that it’s not waterproof and not sweatproof. If it’s an exceeding hot day with copious perspiration, this is not going to last and you can feel it coming out of your skin and pooling in small white patches. Too bad about that or else I’d rate this way higher. Nevertheless, it’s good for casual days or just days when you sit indoors by the window and won’t be heading out nor perspiring much. However, this absolutely cannot and should not be used for outdoor do’s and sports.
Quality: 8 (with marks away for lack of water and sweat-resistance)
Overall score: 9 (to get a perfect 10, Vichy just needs to retain the same texture but waterproof it!)
