The Body Shop Delipscious Sheer Lip Colour in 03, 04 & 07

I had purchased The Body Shop’s Delipscious Lip Colour in 09 Pomegranate just a few weeks back (blog entry here), made from 100% food grade ingredients.

Well, I just happened to be popping by The Body Shop at my nearest mall to nose around…and my Pavlovian response kicked in when I saw that they were now marked down by 25% from SGD$19.90 to SGD$14.93!

Did I really need 3 more Delipscious?

But I couldn’t resist, the frail-willed, weak-kneed female that I am where lipstuff is concerned. Beautifully shrinkwrapped =)

My picks

I picked up:

03 Sheer Watermelon
04 Sheer Candy
07 Sheer Raspberry

Yummylicious Watermelon

That’s Watermelon, which doesn’t look red at all, but a lovely, wearable, sheer peach.

03 Watermelon

Makes me wonder why it’s called Watermelon instead of Peach. A very wearable, barely there colour that leans slightly warm.

04 Sheer Candy

That’s how Sheer Candy 04 looks in the tube. A slightly dusky mauve light pink. You’d probably think there’s not much colour payoff.

04 Sheer Candy - the most pigmented of the 3

That’s how 04 Sheer Candy looks swatched on the skin. The most pigmented out of the 3 and not so much pink, but a light plum-pink.

07 Sheer Raspberry

07 Sheer Raspberry leans cool in the tube (and no, it doesn’t resemble the true colour of a raspberry fruit).

Very sheer light baby pink

That’s 07 Sheer Raspberry swatched – the sheerest out of the 3. While it leans cool, as it’s so sheer, most of your original lip colour will still show through. So warm toned ladies don’t have to worry about this being cool rather than warm.

More swatches taken indoors with natural light.

Which one’s your favourite?

I find these 3 shades very wearable on all skintones and rather “fail-proof”. Although the staying power isn’t fantastic, but it’s a joy to re-apply. They’re not too moisturising so those with dry lips might wish to layer some balm under.

Rating out of 10
Price: 7 (fair for Singapore)
Quality: 7.5 (some might find it slightly too waxy)
Packaging: 9 (stylish, classy silver recycled aluminium casing and slimlines make colour applications so easy)
Ease of usage: 9 (sheer and glides on smoothly so it’s hard to have clown lips with this :)
Overall score: 8.1
